Bio
I am a PhD candidate in economics working on education and inclusive economic growth in Africa. I have been awarded an Orange Knowledge Scholarship, an Oppenheimer Memorial Trust Scholarship, an Emergent Ventures Grant, and the 2025 C. Lowell Harriss Dissertation Fellowship for my research. I have worked at the UN’s FAO, J-PAL Africa, and have consulted on diverse projects. My current obsessions are education and land value tax, two seemingly distant fields united by my belief in their ability to transform economies.
I write a Substack blog where I explore the theoretical and practical aspects of fulfilling John Rawls’ maximin, or how we can achieve the best for the worst off. I write about economic history, political philosophy, global inequality, and other topics I can’t stop thinking about until I’ve explored them in writing.
When not solving economic puzzles, I am passionate about nature—trail running and hiking through vibrant landscapes, exulting in botany, birds, and butterflies.
